High-Density Development Approved for Former Industrial Site at Neely Street

A high-density multi-family development has been approved for the former industrial site east of Neely Street. The land use classification is changing from Industrial (I) to Residential > 25-50 DU/Acre, with a rezoning from Light Industrial (LI) to Multi-Family High (MF/H) with a Planned Area Development (PAD) overlay.

Why it matters

This development aligns with the long-term goals of the Heritage District redevelopment area, which aims to create a pedestrian-oriented village center atmosphere. By converting the industrial land to high-density residential, the project will offer diverse housing options and support local employment and retail sectors. The introduction of 285 new residential units will enhance the vitality of the area and contribute to balanced land use, meeting the goals of the General Plan.
