The City of Phoenix City Council authorized the City Manager to enter into master agreements with two contractors, Michael J. Valente Contracting, Inc. and TALIS Construction Corporation, for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Pedestrian Access Route Remediation Job Order Contracting (JOC) services for the Street Transportation Department. The total fee for all services will not exceed $25 million, with each master agreement valued at up to $12.5 million. The services include setting up traffic control, excavation, subgrade preparation, pouring and finishing concrete for valley gutters, curb and gutter, alley and driveway entrances, and sidewalks. It also involves replacing asphalt concrete pavement and installing ADA-compliant concrete sidewalk ramps with detectable warnings, and adjusting utility junction boxes. The contractors are also responsible for fulfilling Small Business Enterprise program requirements. This initiative aims to improve pedestrian accessibility across the city.
