An ordinance was approved to rezone approximately 41.8 acres from R-4 Single Family Residential to R-5 Single Family and R-6 Multi-Family. The project proposes 336 apartments and 71 single family home lots. The site has one house to be removed and consists mostly of vacant former athletic fields. Pond Creek runs along the north of the site, which also contains areas of wetlands and floodplains. The rezoning is subject to binding elements and waivers as set forth in the minutes of the Planning Commission, with additional binding elements regarding security, lighting, stop signs, and restrictions on factory-built homes until July 1, 2026. The developer is also required to contribute to potential future traffic signal installations.
