The City Council of Jacksonville approved a zoning exception (E-25-35) for RMFM RE, LLC, to allow for an automobile storage yard within the Commercial Community/General-2 (CCG-2) District. The property is located between Interstate-295 and Faith Memorial Drive. The application, filed by John Wallace on behalf of RMFM RE, LLC, was reviewed by the Land Use and Zoning Committee and the Planning and Development Department. The Council determined that the requested exception is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan, compatible with existing contiguous uses, will not have negative environmental impacts, will not detrimentally affect traffic or parking, will not adversely affect future development of adjacent properties, and will not create objectionable noise or activities. The ordinance stipulates that the zoning exception will be invalid if the approved use or action does not commence within one year of its effective date. The Land Use & Zoning Committee approved the request 7-0, and the City Council approved it 17-2.
