The City Council of Jacksonville approved the donation of eight city-owned parcels, located in Council District 7, to Eastside Housing Collaborative, LLC. This Florida not-for-profit organization, a joint venture between Historic Eastside Community Development Corporation and Lift Jax, Inc., will use the properties to provide affordable housing to residents of the City's historic Eastside neighborhood. The properties include vacant and improved parcels with a total assessed value of $151,933. The conveyance is at no cost to the Collaborative, with a covenant requiring the property to be developed and used for affordable housing within two years, evidenced by certificates of occupancy. Failure to comply with this covenant will result in the property reverting to the City of Jacksonville by Special Warranty Deed at no cost. The ordinance also waives certain conflicting provisions of the Ordinance Code regarding property disposition for affordable housing, and the satisfaction of delinquent liens or taxes.
