The City Council of Houston approved an appropriation of $2,728,000.00 for the General Services Department's (GSD) Environmental Services Program for Fiscal Year 2026. This funding will support Professional Environmental Consulting Services and Environmental Remediation Services Contracts. These contracts allow the City to address environmental needs promptly, covering environmental assessments, remediation, abatement, demolition, and facility modifications to ensure regulatory compliance. The program is supported through various bond funds from departments including Contributed Capital Project, General Improvement, Fire, Police, Public Health, Public Library, Solid Waste, and Parks.
