The Houston City Council has approved a second additional appropriation of $323,462.77 for a professional engineering services contract with HR Green, Inc. for the Arlington Heights Area Drainage and Paving (Sub-Project 2). This project, part of the Capital Improvement Plan, is designed to mitigate and reduce the risk of structural flooding. Improvements include the design of storm drainage systems, concrete paving, curbs, sidewalks, driveways, and underground utilities for the Arlington Heights area. The additional funds are specifically for environmental and engineering updates, necessitated by challenges encountered during the detention system design which caused delays in the project's progression. The total contract amount with HR Green, Inc. will increase to $1,194,108.78 with this appropriation, providing funding for both contract services and CIP Cost Recovery.
