An ordinance was approved appropriating $18,144,141 in tax increment revenue payments from the Houston Independent School District (HISD). These funds are authorized for transfer to various Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZs), the City's Affordable Housing Fund, and HISD for Educational Facilities Project Costs, as well as the Midtown Redevelopment Authority for its affordable housing program. The appropriation is for Fiscal Year 2026. Specifically, $2,524,904 is allocated to the City's Affordable Housing Fund, $15,477,526 to HISD for Educational Facilities Project Costs, and $141,711 to the Midtown Redevelopment Authority for its affordable housing program. This action is pursuant to existing interlocal agreements between the City and HISD and the TIRZs.
