The City Council approved an ordinance authorizing the sale of three right-of-way easements to the San Jacinto River Authority. The easements are for right-of-way purposes and are located out of a 589.27 acre tract and a 56.50 acre tract, out of the William Wilson Survey, A-838, and/or the Humphrey Jackson Survey, A-37. The total area of the easements is ±96,040 square feet (89,145 SF, 1,525 SF, and 5,370 SF). The San Jacinto River Authority requires these easements to re-grade the side slopes of its main raw water canal downstream of the Lake Houston Pump Station. As part of the agreement, the City of Houston will be granted access to a road maintained by the Authority for obtaining access to the Lake Houston dam and spillway. The City will be responsible for an annual maintenance expense not to exceed $50,000.00, with the value of the easements ($14,694.00) being credited toward a portion of these costs.
