The Denver City Council approved a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Oak Leaf Solar 60 LLC for $47,473,937.00 over a 25-year term. This agreement facilitates the purchase of electricity and solar renewable energy credits (SRECs) from an 18-megawatt (MW) solar array to be constructed at Denver International Airport (DEN). The solar array will be located between 114th Street and the Denver/Adams County border, approximately 0.30 miles west of the intersection of Hayesmount Rd and E 112th, or a mutually agreeable location at DEN. This PPA, along with a concurrent 25-year lease agreement for 90 acres of land at DEN, is expected to generate over 750 million kWh of renewable electricity, avoid over 675,000 tons of CO2, and result in $9.2 million in electricity savings for DEN. The project will be financed, designed, constructed, operated, and maintained by Oak Leaf Solar 60 LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Oak Leaf Energy Partners.
