The City and County of Denver approved a ground lease agreement with Oak Leaf Solar 60 LLC for a 25-year term to develop an 18-megawatt (MW) solar array at Denver International Airport (DEN). The project site spans approximately 90 acres located between 114th Street and the Denver/Adams County border, west of the intersection of Hayesmount Rd and E 112th. The lease agreement is valued at $2,335,009.00 over the 25-year term. In conjunction with the lease, a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Oak Leaf Solar 60 LLC, valued at $47,473,937, was also approved. This solar array, named DEN Solar 10, is expected to generate 31 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable electricity annually, providing approximately 750 million kWh over the contract term. This initiative is projected to avoid over 675,000 tons of CO2 emissions and result in $9.2 million in electricity savings for DEN over the 25 years. Oak Leaf Solar 60 LLC, a subsidiary of Oak Leaf Energy Partners, will be responsible for financing, designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the facility.
