The Denver City Council approved a $750,000 loan agreement with Mile High Ministries for the limited rehabilitation of Joshua Station, a 35-unit income-restricted building. This two-story former motel has been repurposed to provide deeply affordable rental housing and comprehensive support for up to 35 families. The rehabilitation focuses on critical safety repairs, including the removal and replacement of six exterior stairways, second-floor walkways, masonry walls, and metal railings. The loan has a 720-month term and is forgivable if the property maintains its affordability requirements. Five units will be restricted to households at 50% of the median income, and 30 units will be restricted to households at 30% of the median income, with these restrictions secured by a 60-year covenant on the land. The project aims to continue supporting families experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty.
