This ordinance authorizes the Director of Development to expend up to $700,000.00 of Affordable Housing Bonds for the Critical Home Repair Program. The program provides assistance to households up to 80% AMI (or 120% AMI for veterans) for critical home repairs such as roofs, windows, doors, and emergency mechanical repairs. The City enters into grant agreements with homeowners, who then contract with a chosen vendor, and the City pays the contractor directly. The ordinance also grants authority to modify these grant agreements as unforeseen issues arise during projects, up to the remaining funds on the ACPO, to avoid project delays. This initiative is a long-standing program by the Division of Housing to support affordable housing through home repairs.
