Columbus City Council repealed Ordinance 1765-2025 and replaced it with a new ordinance (2327-2025) to authorize a grant agreement with Oregon Corporation for Affordable Housing (OCAH) for the development of 84 income-restricted housing units. OCAH will then assign the agreement to Reserve at Maryland Avenue, LLC. The grant amounts to $2,020,000.00. The project, known as The Reserve at Maryland, is a multifamily development on Columbus’ Near East Side, consisting of five buildings: four residential and a clubhouse. The units (24 one-bedroom, 48 two-bedroom, 12 three-bedroom) will be set to 60% AMI. Connect Housing Blocks will manufacture modular units for the project, emphasizing sustainability and efficiency. Amenities include fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryer hookups, spacious closets, a playground, green space, and a community center with a kitchenette, exercise room, and computer center. The location is strategically placed near an Amazon Distribution Center, transit stops, a daycare, Eastgate Elementary School, grocery stores, and a public park. The ordinance also authorizes the appropriation and transfer of funds within the Income Set Aside Subfund and the Affordable Housing Bond Fund.
