The Columbus City Council authorized the Director of Public Service to enter into a contribution agreement with the Columbus Metropolitan Library. This agreement provides $3,000,000.00 in funding for Phase II of the library's 2020 Vision Plan, which aims to renovate and expand the existing Barnett and Linden library branch locations, and construct a new Marion-Franklin Branch. The funding is sourced from the Northland and Other Acquisitions Bond Fund ($1,800,000.00) and the Streets and Highways Bond Fund ($1,200,000.00). This initiative continues the multi-phased plan to revitalize the library's 23 locations to address aging infrastructure and evolving community needs, following Phase I which supported public infrastructure improvements at seven other branches.
