The City Council of Atlanta adopted Ordinance 25-O-1480, which authorizes Invest Atlanta to utilize the remaining funds from the Atlanta Recovery Fund. This fund, originally established by Ordinance 24-O-1301 with $7,500,000.00, was intended to support small businesses affected by water main breaks in May and June 2024. The new ordinance repurposes these remaining funds to assist small businesses along Cascade Road, specifically from Harbin Road to the east end of Cascade Circle SW, which have been negatively impacted by ongoing water and sewer infrastructure construction projects. Additionally, the ordinance extends the deadline for Invest Atlanta to close out the fund and transfer any remaining funds back to the City of Atlanta’s Water & Sewer Revenue Fund from June 30, 2025, to December 31, 2025. Invest Atlanta, in collaboration with the Department of Watershed Management and the Department of Finance, is tasked with developing eligibility criteria, payment calculation methodologies, and required documentation policies for financial assistance applications. The Mayor or his designee is authorized to execute all necessary documents, including amendments to the Intergovernmental Agreement for Economic Development Services, to implement the ordinance's purpose.
