The Madison City Council adopted an ordinance (File # 88736) to amend various tables within Chapter 28 of the Madison General Ordinances. This amendment primarily permits two-family twin and two-unit buildings in all zoning districts where single-family dwellings are currently allowed. Additionally, the ordinance standardizes Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) regulations by removing different standards previously applied in the TR-P district, aligning them with other residential districts. It also formally adds two-family twin as an allowed type of two-unit dwelling in the DR-1 and DR-2 districts. A technical change was also included to update the front-yard setback in the SR-C3 district to 25 feet to conform with a previously passed ordinance. The Common Council voted to adopt the ordinance on July 15, 2025, following a recommendation from the Plan Commission.
