The San Francisco Board of Supervisors retroactively approved Port Commission Lease No. L-17256 with Autodesk, Inc. for a 36-month lease with one 12-month option to extend, from February 1, 2025, through January 31, 2028. The lease covers approximately 33,282 square feet of shed space for office, research and development, and workshop use; 1,688 square feet of shed space for storage; 6,622 licensed square feet of roof space; and 6,594 licensed square feet on the marginal wharf between Pier 9 and Pier 15 for office, R&D, workshop, and public access. The monthly rent for the initial term is $147,018.12, increasing annually. Autodesk has been a tenant at Pier 9 since 2012, investing over $3 million in improvements. The lease is expected to generate over $5.4 million in rent over the initial term and up to $7.27 million if the extension is exercised. The Port Commission approved the lease on June 10, 2025, and it requires Board of Supervisors' approval due to the revenue exceeding $1 million.
