The San Francisco Board of Supervisors approved an ordinance appropriating $150,000,000 from the 2020 Health and Recovery General Obligation Bonds, Series 2025G. These proceeds are allocated to the Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development (MOHCD) for Fiscal Year 2025-2026. The funds are earmarked for the acquisition and improvement of real property dedicated to various behavioral and mental health facilities, permanent supportive housing, and shelters, as well as associated costs. The appropriation also includes a de-appropriation of $160,467,200 from a previous 2021D General Obligation bond series. The funds will be placed on the Controller’s Reserve until the bond proceeds are received. This action stems from Proposition A, approved by voters in November 2020, which authorized up to $487.5 million in bonds for health, recovery, housing, and public infrastructure improvements.
