The Board of Supervisors voted to extend by 90 days the prescribed time for the Planning Commission to render its decision on Ordinance File No. 250426, which would establish the San Francisco Gateway Special Use District. The new deadline is October 22, 2025. The ordinance amends the Planning Code and Zoning Map, creating a special use district generally bounded by Kirkwood Avenue, Rankin Street, McKinnon Avenue, and Toland Street. The resolution includes findings under the California Environmental Quality Act, consistency with the General Plan and priority policies, and public necessity, convenience, and welfare. Supervisor Shamann Walton requested the extension under Planning Code Section 306.4(d) to allow additional review time for the proposed amendments.
