The Board of Supervisors approved a long-term permit granting FIL Partners LLC’s Golden City FC exclusive use of Kezar Stadium for home games in MLS Next Pro, with an initial term of 15 years and three five-year renewal options. The permit requires up-front capital improvements of $10 million—including new turf, seating, scoreboard, sound, concessions upgrades, and ADA compliance—funded by the team in exchange for rent credits. Under the agreement, Golden City FC may stage up to 20 games per season, rent adjacent park areas for events, sell concessions and alcohol under approved monitoring, and coordinate scheduling with youth and school sports programs to preserve existing uses. The team must also place $1 million into a maintenance fund before each renewal option, reimburse city costs for event staffing, and provide 38 tickets per game to underserved communities.
