On May 1, 2025, the Board of Supervisors introduced a resolution of intention to renew and expand the Ocean Avenue Community Benefit District for 15 years and levy assessments on all parcels within its new boundaries. The resolution approves the Management District Plan, Engineer’s Report, and proposed Boundaries Map and sets a public hearing for July 8, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in City Hall. The district will provide enhanced cleaning and maintenance, streetscape improvements and beautification, marketing and economic development services, and district management and operations. Assessments will appear as a separate line item on property tax bills and may increase annually by up to 5% or the change in the CPI, whichever is less. Unpaid assessments will be enforced by the Treasurer in the same manner as ad valorem taxes.
