On May 6, 2025, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 224-25 finding that the person-to-person, premise-to-premise transfer of a Type-48 on-sale general beer, wine, and distilled spirits liquor license to Far East Cafe Inc., doing business as Far East Café Social Club at 627 Grant Avenue (District 3), will serve the public convenience or necessity of the City and County of San Francisco. The resolution endorses Police Department recommendations and requests that the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control issue the license with four conditions: active monitoring to prevent loitering on adjacent property depicted on ABC-253; maintaining adjacent areas free of litter; ensuring that entertainment or amplified sound is only audible within the licensed area and in compliance with any active Entertainment Permit; and requiring two uniformed, state-licensed security guards on duty during live entertainment to maintain order and protect the quiet enjoyment of nearby residents and the surrounding community.
