The San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution No. 223-25, initiating the landmark designation process for the Alert Alley Early Residential Historic District under Article 10 of the Planning Code. This district, located in the Mission Dolores neighborhood, encompasses 17 residential buildings on portions of 15th Street, 16th Street, Dolores Street, and Landers Street. The designation seeks to recognize the district's historical significance, reflecting early small-scale residential and agricultural development patterns, as well as post-1906 reconstruction period architecture, including various architectural styles like Italianate and Queen Anne. The Board has requested the Planning Department to prepare a comprehensive landmark designation report for review by the Historic Preservation Commission. An extension of 180 days has been granted to the Planning Department to complete its review.
