The Board of Supervisors approved a lease of the Adante Hotel at 610 Geary Street to the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing for use as a non-congregate temporary shelter program. Under the terms, the City will rent the 93-room building for an initial one-year term commencing April 1, 2025, at an annual base rent of $1,484,280, with four one-year extension options at 3% annual increases. The lease provides a maximum final payment of $100,000 payable upon property surrender if the extension option is not exercised. It includes provisions for building condition, landlord and tenant responsibilities, insurance, and compliance with accessibility, seismic, and life-safety laws. The lease was deemed exempt from CEQA under AB 101 and found consistent with the General Plan and Priority Policies of Planning Code Section 101.1. The Director of Property is authorized to execute, amend, and extend the lease as needed.
