This ordinance amends the Planning Code to create an exception for certain distilleries, wineries, and breweries, allowing them to establish on-sale liquor establishments in the Bayview Neighborhood Commercial District. Previously, the Third Street Alcohol Restricted Use District generally prohibited new liquor establishments with limited exceptions. The amendment allows ABC License Type 42 establishments to open in this district, subject to a conditional use authorization. It also clarifies amendments to the Zoning Tables of the Bayview Neighborhood Commercial District. The Board of Supervisors passed the ordinance on first reading on February 25, 2025, and finally passed it on March 4, 2025. The Mayor approved the ordinance on March 7, 2025. The amendment aims to add to the variety of nightlife offerings, fill vacant storefronts, and create new opportunities for small businesses along Third Street.
