The City and County of San Francisco has been awarded $4,840,730 in state funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development to support housing stability for young adults aged 18-24. The allocation includes up to $4,210,804 for the Transitional Housing Program (THP) and up to $629,926 for the Housing Navigation and Maintenance Program (HNMP). These funds will prioritize individuals formerly in the foster care or probation system and provide critical assistance such as rental support, case management, and service coordination. The San Francisco Human Services Agency will administer the funds and ensure their effective distribution to eligible participants.
This funding expands San Francisco’s capacity to address youth homelessness, particularly for those aging out of foster care or involved in the probation system. By providing transitional housing and support services, the city aims to prevent homelessness and create long-term stability for at-risk young adults.
