The San Francisco Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to designate a portion of Ingerson Avenue, specifically between 3rd Street and Griffith Street, as "Jesai Kingston Way." This honorary street naming recognizes Jesai Kingston, a twelve-year-old resident who lived in the area for nearly two decades. The resolution highlights his compassionate and selfless character, academic and athletic achievements, and significant contributions to community service, including volunteering at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. His tragic death on Ingerson Avenue was a factor in this commemorative decision. The Land Use and Transportation Committee recommended the resolution for adoption on February 3, 2025, which was subsequently approved by the full Board of Supervisors on February 4, 2025. The Department of Public Works is directed to update its official list of commemorative street names.
