The Philadelphia City Council has enacted Bill No. 250430, authorizing the striking from City Plan No. 123 and the abandonment of a right-of-way. This right-of-way, previously reserved for water main purposes, is located approximately five-hundred feet north of Montgomery Avenue, extending from Broad Street to Fifteenth Street. The authorization is conditional upon the property owner(s) filing an agreement satisfactory to the City Solicitor within two years to release the City from damages related to the plan changes. Additionally, the party in interest must file an agreement to indemnify and defend the City from any damages. The ordinance will not become effective unless a sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) is paid into the City Treasury within 120 days. The bill was passed by the City Council on June 12, 2025, and signed by the Mayor on June 26, 2025.
