The Philadelphia City Council authorized the Philadelphia Land Bank to dispose of 42 vacant parcels located in the 8th Councilmanic District under the revised Turn the Key program, increasing each unit’s sale price to $280,000 and setting affordability at or below 100% of the Area Median Income (AMI). The land parcels, including multiple properties on East Ashmead Street, East Bringhurst Street, East Earlham Street, Germantown Avenue, Good Street, Heiskell Street, Keyser Street, Morton Street, Musgrave Street, East Pastorius Street, East Penn Street, East Phil Ellena Street, Reger Street, East Seymour Street, East Sharpnack Street, Shedaker Street, Sheldon Street, East Springer Street, and Wakefield Street, will be conveyed pursuant to Chapter 16-700 of The Philadelphia Code and Act 153 of 2012. The Land Bank Board of Directors approved the material change to the project plans originally authorized by Resolution No. 240773 to reflect the new sale price and income eligibility. This transfer enables homeownership opportunities for income-restricted buyers and supports neighborhood revitalization by returning vacant city-owned lots to productive residential use.
