Council authorized the Philadelphia Land Bank to transfer title of 166 W. Cumberland Street and 2537 Mutter Street in the 7th Council District for side yard development. The Land Bank Board determined the best use of these parcels is to convey them for adjoining side yard expansion under Chapter 16-700 and Act 153 of 2012, 68 Pa. C.S.A. § 2101, et seq. By utilizing Section 16-706 of the Philadelphia Code, the Land Bank can convey interests in these properties subject to the requirements of Section 16-400. This resolution implements Councilmember Lozada’s initiative to repurpose small vacant parcels for community benefit. The transfer streamlines the disposal process and promotes neighborhood stabilization through property improvements.
