The Philadelphia City Council has authorized the Philadelphia Land Bank to transfer five parcels of land—2942 and 2944 W Wishart Street, 3323 W Allegheny Avenue, 3212 N 33rd Street, and 3216 N Newkirk Street—for the development of affordable homeownership housing. These properties, located in the 4th Councilmanic District, will be eligible for the Turn the Key program under the Neighborhood Preservation Initiative. This resolution supports the city's housing goals by repurposing public land for affordable residential use and adheres to the provisions of Chapter 16-700 of The Philadelphia Code and Act 153 of 2012.
This multi-site land transfer supports efforts to address housing affordability by increasing the supply of affordable homes for ownership. The decision strengthens community development and advances equitable housing access in the 4th District.
