The New York City Council adopted application C 250185 ZMM, known as the Midtown South Mixed-Use Plan, submitted by the New York City Department of City Planning. This action amends Zoning Map, Section No. 8d, to eliminate the Special Midtown District (MiD) and the Special Garment Center District (GC). It also reclassifies several M1-6 and M1-6D districts to higher density M1-8A/R11, M1-8A/R12, and M1-9A/R12 districts. Furthermore, the plan establishes a new Special Hudson Yards District (HY) and a Special Midtown South Mixed-Use District (MSMX) within the Borough of Manhattan, specifically Community Districts 4 and 5, and Council District 3. The proposal was approved by the Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises, and the Committee on Land Use with modifications before final approval by the Council. The decision was made with modifications and referred to the City Planning Commission pursuant to Section 197-(d) of the New York City Charter.
