The New York City Council approved the disposition and acquisition of a city-owned property at East 110th Street in Manhattan (Block 1638, p/o Lot 1) for the Carmen Villegas Apartments Senior Housing project. This decision, Resolution No. 1010, was coupled with related applications (L.U. Nos. 313, 314, 316) that included an amendment to the Zoning Resolution to establish a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing area and an amendment to the Zoning Map. The zoning map amendment changed the district from R7-2 and R7B to R9-1, facilitating a higher density residential development. The NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development submitted the application for the disposition of the property (L.U. No. 315) and acquisition (L.U. No. 316). Ascendant Development Corporation, Urban Builders Collaborative, and Xylem Projects were also involved in the related zoning map amendment application. The project aims to provide senior housing in Community District 11.
