The City Council approved the Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan, a neighborhood rezoning in Central Brooklyn that will deliver 4,600 new homes, including 1,900 permanently affordable units, and secure over $215 million in community investments. The plan rezones portions of Community Districts 3 and 8 and applies Mandatory Inclusionary Housing Option 1 across the area. The Council negotiated commitments for tenant and homeowner protections, local hiring programs, streets and public realm improvements, park and playground renovations, subway station upgrades, and modernized infrastructure. Modifications ensure stronger affordability and enhanced community benefits for Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bed–Stuy residents.
