The City Council unanimously approved the Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan on May 28, 2025. This neighborhood rezoning in Central Brooklyn will enable up to 4,600 new residential units, including approximately 1,900 permanently affordable homes, and dedicate over $215 million to local infrastructure and community improvements. The plan secures MIH Option One for all affordable units, funds park and playground renovations, streetscape enhancements, tenant and homeowner legal services, local hiring programs, subway station upgrades, and critical utility modernizations. Developed in partnership with Community Boards 3 and 8, the Department of City Planning, and Council Members Hudson and Ossé, the approved modifications reflect extensive public engagement and aim to foster equitable growth across Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and Bed-Stuy.
