The City Council approved Resolution 982 (Preconsidered LU No. 320) on June 30, 2025 to confirm the site selection for a new 547- to 754-seat K–8 primary/intermediate school facility proposed by the New York City School Construction Authority. The site is located at Halletts Point, south of Astoria Boulevard and adjacent to Halletts Point Playground in Community District 1 (Council District 22), Community School District 30. The resolution was coupled on the General Orders Calendar and passed unanimously without conditions. This action authorizes the SCA to proceed with planning and design for the facility at the approved location.
