The New York City Council approved a series of land use actions for the Carmen Villegas Apartments, a proposed senior housing development in Manhattan. The approvals include a zoning map amendment (C 250148 ZMM) to change existing R7-2 and R7B districts to R9-1 District designations. Additionally, a zoning resolution modification (N 250147 ZRM) was approved to establish a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing area. The decision also encompasses the disposition (C 250149 PPM) and acquisition (C 250150 PQM) of city-owned property located at East 110th Street (Block 1638, p/o Lot 1), which is integral to the project. These applications were submitted by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, in conjunction with Ascendant Development Corporation, Urban Builders Collaborative, and Xylem Projects. The overall purpose of these approvals is to facilitate the development of much-needed senior housing.
