The Atlantic Avenue Mixed-Use Plan (AAMUP) proposes a comprehensive rezoning of approximately 21 blocks of Atlantic Avenue in central Brooklyn to replace outdated M1-1 zoning with a new mixed-use special district. The plan would allow building heights up to 120 feet along Atlantic Avenue, introduce Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) throughout and require or incentivize non-residential uses on ground floors and mid-block job spaces. Public review actions include map and text amendments to establish the special district, UDAAP and Article XI dispositions for five City-owned sites for 100% affordable housing, and coordinated infrastructure commitments. The rezoning aims to create up to 4,600 new homes—1,400 of which are income-restricted—and space for 2,800 new jobs, while modernizing streetscapes and parks.
