On September 12, 2024, the New York City Council adopted a resolution (M 67) calling up for its own review the City Planning Commission’s actions on Applications C 230208 ZSM and C 230209 ZSM related to the 135th Street Rezoning. These applications propose rezoning the property at 701 West 135th Street from an M1-1 district to R7-2 with a C2-4 overlay within the new Special Manhattanville Mixed Use District. The call-up halts implementation of the special permits allowing a permanent platform over the rail right-of-way to count toward lot area and modifications to rear yard and lot coverage regulations until the Council completes its review. Introduced by Council Member Rafael Salamanca Jr., the resolution was coupled on the call-up vote.
