The City Planning Commission approved amendments to the Zoning Map (C 250014 ZMK/N 250015 ZRK) and multiple acquisition/disposition actions (C 250016–C 250023 PQK/PPK/HAK) to establish the Special Atlantic Avenue Mixed Use District in Brooklyn. The rezoning replaces portions of existing R6A, R6B, R7A, R7D, M1-1, and C6-2A districts with new residential, commercial, manufacturing, and mixed-use designations—including R7A, R7-2, R7D, M1-2A/R6A, M1-3A/R7D, C4-3A, C4-5D, C6-3A, and M1-4A/R9A—along Atlantic Avenue in Community Districts 3 and 8. The Zoning Resolution is also amended to create the Special Atlantic Avenue Mixed Use District (Article XIV, Chapter 6) with tailored bulk, use, and design regulations and to modify Appendix F for a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing area. Multiple city-owned sites (516 Bergen Street, 1110 Atlantic Avenue, 457 Nostrand Avenue, 1134–1142 Pacific Street, and 542 Dean Street) are designated for acquisition, disposition, and Urban Development Action Area projects to facilitate new parking, residential, commercial, light industrial, and community facility development. These coordinated actions aim to promote mixed-use redevelopment, add housing and commercial capacity, and revitalize the Atlantic Avenue corridor.
