Local Law 1105 amends the NYC Administrative Code to require the Department of Transportation to maintain a public benchmark project tracker for the Streets Master Plan. Upon submission of its annual Streets Plan update, DOT must post descriptions of all planned benchmark projects and quantify each project’s contributions toward mandated benchmarks, including protected bus lane miles, protected bicycle lane miles, accessible pedestrian signals, and bus stop upgrades. Additionally, DOT must issue monthly updates for each project under its jurisdiction, detailing project status, funding allocations and expenditures, start and completion dates, community board presentation status and materials, and any delays or cost overruns. The law codifies transparency measures to keep New Yorkers informed of capital street safety and mobility improvements.
