The Metropolitan Council approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) and the Department of General Services (DGS). This MOU allows DGS to use 3.77 acres of MNPS-controlled property at 3500 John Mallette Drive (Parcel No. 06916001000) to construct Fire Station 24. In exchange for custodianship and development rights of the fire station site, DGS will develop an ADA-compliant playing field surface and path for the adjacent Isaiah Cresswell School. The agreement has a stated value of $500,000. DGS is responsible for the design and construction costs of both the fire station and the playing field, with MNPS responsible for maintenance of the playing field after completion. Site construction is set to begin within two years of the effective date.
