The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is authorized to abandon a portion of an existing utility easement for properties located at 0 Victory Avenue and 501 S 1st Street (Proposal No. 2025M-109ES-001). The Metropolitan Planning Commission recommended approval of this abandonment to the Metropolitan Council on July 10, 2025. This recommendation comes with a condition from Nashville Electric Service (NES) stating that there should be no interference with their existing easement. Various Metro agencies, including Metro Parks, Nashville Department of Transportation, Metro Water Services, Metro Emergency Communications, Nashville Electric Service, General Services-Public Property, and the Metro Historical Commission, reviewed the proposal and concurred in the recommendation for approval. The ordinance states that there is no cost to Metro as abandoned easements hold no market value. The final approval rests with the Metro Council.
