The Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County expressed support for a proposed landscaping project at the interchange of TN State Highway 155 (Briley Parkway) and County Hospital Road. This initiative, led by the Metropolitan Department of Water and Sewerage Services in cooperation with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), aims to enhance the appearance and functionality of the approximately 15-acre highway intersection. The project involves planting various tree species, including American smoketree, Canadian serviceberry, Eastern redbud, and different holly and hawthorn varieties, within a 9.1-acre planting area. Metro Water Services will manage the installation and initial two-year maintenance of approximately 20 individual trees, with an estimated cost of $20,000. The Planning Commission had previously recommended approval of this mandatory referral. The Mayor also provided an approval letter supporting the plan.
