The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County authorized the abandonment of approximately 1,250 linear feet of existing eight-inch water main, two fire hydrant assemblies, and associated easements at 4500 Harding Pike, also known as Belle Meade Plaza. Concurrently, the Council approved the acceptance of new fire hydrant assemblies and easements at the same location. This action is necessary for the construction of MWS Project No. 24-WL-56. The Metropolitan Planning Commission approved mandatory referral No. 2025M-030ES-001 on May 15, 2025. The ordinance was sponsored by Council Members Rollin Horton, Jennifer Gamble, and Sean Parker. According to the fiscal note, this ordinance incurs no cost to the Metro Government, as abandoned easements have no market value.
