This resolution authorizes Grand Ole Opry, LLC to construct, install, and maintain an LED illuminated blade sign that encroaches into the public right-of-way at 116 Rep. John Lewis Way North. The Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County grants this privilege by resolution, requiring at least 21 affirmative votes. Grand Ole Opry, LLC must indemnify the Metropolitan Government from any claims arising from the encroachment and is responsible for all construction and maintenance costs. Prior to receiving a permit, a certificate of public liability insurance of at least $2,000,000, naming the Metropolitan Government as an insured party, must be filed with the Metropolitan Clerk and the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT). The authority granted is a privilege, not a franchise, and can be repealed by the Metropolitan Government if public welfare demands it, requiring Grand Ole Opry, LLC to remove the encroachment at their expense. Construction and maintenance are under the direction and supervision of the NDOT Director.
