The Metropolitan Council adopted a resolution declaring 13 parcels of land, acquired through the delinquent tax-sale process, as surplus property. The resolution authorizes the Director of Public Property Administration to sell these properties. The proceeds from the sale of these parcels will be credited to the Barnes Fund for Affordable Housing. These properties were deemed no longer needed for governmental purposes and could not obtain building permits due to their size or physical characteristics. The properties can be sold to adjacent owners at appraised value or to the highest bidder if no adjacent owner is willing to pay the appraised value. The Planning Commission had previously approved this surplus property declaration.
