An ordinance (BL2025-783) authorizing the renaming of an unimproved 206.25-foot segment of Toney Road to “Lillard Lane” was approved by the Metropolitan Council. The renaming was requested by the North Lights development team and supported by Councilmember Kyonzte Toombs at the behest of the Nashville Department of Transportation and Emergency Communications to avoid confusion for emergency responders. The unimproved segment lies east of Old Matthews Road within the Dewey Heights Addition and was historically referred to as Toney Street. The change has no associated construction or cost and was unanimously approved on second reading.
