An ordinance to amend Title 17, Chapter 17.37 (Downtown Code) of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to remove automobile parking as a permitted principal use within the Second Avenue Historic Preservation Overlay boundary. Currently, automobile parking is a permitted principal use within the Central Use Area of the Downtown Code, which includes the Second Avenue Historic Preservation Overlay. The amendment prohibits standalone parking lots within this specific historic overlay, while maintaining it as a permitted principal use in the rest of the Central Use Area. Automobile parking would still be allowed within the Second Avenue Historic Preservation Overlay if it is accessory to another permitted principal use.
